  • We are an open and affirming church celebrating the diversity of God's people in race, gender, sexual orientation, physical and mental abilities, marital and economic status, and culture.
  • Our growing congregation currently has 225 members.
  • Our educational program includes Sunday School for infants to age 14, a youth group, weekly bible study led by Pastor Shelly, and adult forums most Sundays.
  • We have access for the disabled and offer nursery care for small children.
  • Our pastor is the Reverend Doctor Rochelle A. Stackhouse.
  • We have a senior choir led by Marguerite Brooks, director of choral music at the Yale Institute of Sacred Music, a girls' choir, a boys' choir, and a childrens' choir.
  • We are affiliated with the United Church of Christ, a progressive mainline Protestant denomination with roots that extend back to the Mayflower Pilgrims.

Flickrshow will appear here!

  • Teams from our congregation regularly serve meals at the Columbus House shelter, participate in Habitat for Humanity builds, and have traveled to the Gulf Coast to work on rebuilding efforts.  We are a charter member of a broad-based community organizing effort in northern Fairfield and New Haven Counties.  We host several 12-step and other self help groups each week, and our facilities are used by a large number of community organizations.
  • Our congregation was founded in 1838, and our current sanctuary was dedicated in 1951.
